Why this blog?

Why this blog?Why this blog?

Oh, and why me?

I discovered HSP when counselling a young girl who clearly lacked self-confidence for all the wrong reasons. I searched for information and found not only her, but also myself. And since then I have discovered a world of people who think there is something wrong with them just because they possess the same qualities that I myself have always been very aware of but also secretly proud of. Secretly, because they haven’t really been  accepted as anything – because – to my astonishment – 80% of the population can’t even see them.

I have worked as a teacher and counsellor for years, and with people since forever.  I am frustrated that highly sensitive people don’t have the same right to be themselves as everybody else. It is not everybody else’s fault, nor is it the fault of the HSP. The problem is that most people aren’t aware of the existence of such a thing. The more we know, the better we can know that sensitivity is a perfectly normal human quality that simply exists. Deal with it! And do it well.

So this is why I have created this blog. It is my contribution in terms of distributing information and understanding of the wonderful qualities that come with being extra sensitive!
